Edith Singleton

Edith Singleton, 77, of Sneads Ferry, NC gained her wings and joined our Lord and Savior on Friday, April 7, 2017, at New Hanover RMC, Wilmington, NC.
Her funeral service is being held at noon on Thursday, April 13 at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Beasley officiating. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Singleton was born on September 24, 1939, in Harnett County, Dunn, NC; the daughter of the late Robert and Lavinia "Vennie" Tripp. She worked in retail and retired with Food Lion in Sneads Ferry, NC. She was loved by all who knew her and is known for her kind heart and great love of family.
She is survived by her husband, James Singleton III of Sneads Ferry, NC; her son, Richard Holcomb of Sallisaw, OK; her daughters and spouses, Angela and James Zipp of Vacaville, CA, Donna and Joe Neuburger of Elk Grove, CA, Renee and Timothy Howlett of Vacaville, CA and Clarice and Paul Girolamo of Morehead City, NC; her sisters and spouses, Gerry and Clawson Hicks of Swansboro, NC, Delores "PeeWee" and John Teel of Raleigh, NC and Pam and Jerry Stoops of North Port, FL; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Elton Tripp of Dunn, NC and Charles Tripp of Clinton, NC.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home, one hour prior to the service.
