Dear Mrs.Campbell, Eddie and Phil: The memorial service at First Baptist certainly captured the essence of Mr. Campbell. My happiest memories will always center around LakeTuscaloosa and Uncle "Kingfish" at the wheel of the sleek Cobalt, and the Church boys skiing behind. Your life-long friendship is invaluable to our family. Love, -David N.

I can not remember ever going to a Cushman Scooter Meet and not seeing Nelson, Shirley, and Phil. They were like relatives that were there to welcome everyone into their scooter family. Nelson was like a grandfather to the rest of the scooter family. He will be truly missed by all of us.

Sharon and I want to express our deepest sympathy to Shirley and sons with the saddened passing of Nelson. I always enjoyed visiting with Nelson when we would see each other at various scooter meets. I loved to hear the many stories he had to tell about the past history of Cushman in his association as a Cushman dealer. Cushman Club of America has lost a valued member with his passing.
Sincerely,
Dave & Sharon Chandler

Shirley and Family:
I was so sorry to read of Nelson's death in the Tuscaloosa News. I am an old classmate of his and remember you both from Jaycees and Jaycettes. I pray that God will grant you peace and grace through the coming days and yes, even years. His grace is sufficient.

Having grown up with Nelson, this is a sad day indeed. However, as we think back to our early days Nelson was always one of the people we knew would stand out as an achiever in every thing he did. Nelson never had to reinvent himself. He started out as a real person that you could admire for what he was and never had any reason to change. Go in peace.

Dear Shirley, Phil and Eddie, Our hearts go out to you at this time and can only imagine the void you must feel. Nelson was a big part of so many lives, ours included. We will always cherish the memories of the Cushman Meets, time spent at your home, stories shared around the fires (or no fires), Motors in the front and motors in the back dance, and the miles of advise and stores that Nelson would share with all of us. We love you all and pray that your memories will bring you peace at this time of loss.
