Edmund "Ed" A. Stark
November 20, 1919 ~ June 16, 2007

MONTEREY – Edmund A. Stark, age 87, a local resident for over 50 years, was born at his family's farm in Lewiston, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his brother, Norman; first wife, Barbara and second wife, Elaine. Ed is survived by his sons, Edward "Keith" Stark of Monterey and Michael Shane Stark and his wife Virginia of Livermore, CA; daughter, Sandra Lynn Godes of San Diego, CA; step-children, Ben and Julie Berger and Nancy Lynn and Bill Kelly.
   Edmund moved to Burbank, CA in 1941 to work for Lockheed Aircraft. In 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Ord, in charge of the Motor Pool. He worked at United Sweets Auto Service for over 20 years and then he worked at Granite Construction for over 14 years. Ed attended college at night to earn his AA degree in electronics, acquired his pilot's license in the 1940's, pitted for various race teams, acquired his ham radio license, was a scoutmaster for Troop 128, Elder for Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was very involved in the Lutheran Brail Workers, where he traveled the country for over 10 years updating brail machines for the church. He has nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. All who knew Ed felt privileged to know a selfless spirit who was filled with God's love and willing to stand up for what is right.
   Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Monday, June 25, 2007 at The Paul Mortuary Chapel, 390 Lighthouse Avenue, Pacific Grove.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Interment with Military Honors will follow services at El Carmelo Cemetery in Pacific Grove.
