SHELBY- Edna Eugenia Pounds Miles, 94, and a long time resident of Columbus, Ga., went to be with her Lord, Saturday, March 24, 2012.
Edna was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Columbia, Houston County, Ala., oldest and only surviving child of Alto Leon Pounds and Emma Kate Walker Pounds.
She was the mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother of a large extended family.
She is preceded by her husband, Wyatt Wilson Miles Sr., siblings, Jewel Allen, Newman of Georgia, Ruby Pounds of Miami, Fla., Roy Pounds of Port Orange, Fla., Mildred Collins of Jessup, Ga., and Walter Pounds of Miami, Fla.
She is survived by nine children: Wyatt Wilson Miles Jr., of Saucier, Miss., Edward Miles, Hickory Tavern of South Carolina, Harold Miles, Smiths of Alabama, Perry Miles, Reuben Miles of Mattaponi, Va., Edna Greene of Shelby, Gerald Miles of Pensacola, Fla., Catherine Barton, Cataula of Georgia and Sara Minick of Powder Springs, Ga.
She was a Christian by faith and a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, Shelby, North Carolina.
Graveside Service: 1 p.m. Thursday in Columbus, Georgia
