As Emergency Dept Nurses, we all knew Eddie had our backs. I imagine everyone who knew him felt that way.
God Bless, Eddie.

I first met Eddy while working as a nurse on the midnight shift in the E.D. at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park. When he stopped by for a cup of coffee, he would have everyone laughing. In the spring of 1984 I cared for a young Chicago Police Officer from 015 who was injured in a squad car accident. Over the next several months, Eddy helped to nurture a blossoming relationship with that officer. We married a few years later. Through the years we shared some great times with Eddy, Evy, the kids, and even the dogs. Our deepest sympathy to Eddy's family.

Eddie, I met you in 1974 when I was a brand new policeman in 015. You welcomed me and treated me as an equal during a time when "old timers" didn't really talk to rookies. That's the kind of guy you were; decent, fair and honest. You were "the real police". Rest in peace Ed. Joe Walsh Chicago Il

Eddie we first met when I was a rookie in 015 in 1977. You always had patience with me and in time we became good friends on the job. I have very fond memories of the times we worked together. It was a job but you made it fun. You will be greatly missed. God bless you and your family.

When I first came on the Chicago Police Department in 1972, I was assigned to the 15th District. I met Eddie then and worked with him a few times on the "Island Car" which was Eddie's beat. Being a rookie, Eddie was so helpful and treated me very well. I learned alot about being a policeman from Eddie. Eddie would give you "The shirt off of his back". God bless you Eddie.

Eddy my FTO, and what a guy! One of the last 15th District Rangers. I'll remember you throughout my life. I learned a lot and laughed a lot. Great years. Your suffering is over, you're at peace. Now you can share the life here after with Evey. My prayers go out to the Castellano family.
