Dr. Edward John Paul Ciecko, DO, 62, of Philadelphia, died of natural causes on Monday, July 12, 2021. Born June 14, 1959, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Anne C. (Plucinsky) Ciecko. Ed had a private medical practice in Northeast Philadelphia for many years, where he embodied the principles of an old-time family doctor. He was exceedingly generous with his care, paying particular attention to each patient and many friends who depended upon him for advice. He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Northampton.
A kind and devoted son, brother, friend, and doctor, Ed was known for his ability to bring a smile to any situation. He channeled his creativity and wit through gifts, gags, and delicious feasts to make gatherings of friends and family exceptional. As a Holy Ghost Prep student, he volunteered at the Mutter Museum and later earned his degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985. He was a patron of the arts and a dedicated physician who was never too busy to answer a call for help.
Survived by his brother, Dr. Joseph Ciecko; sisters, Anne Ciecko (Rahul) and Patrice Steck (Joseph); nieces, Alaina and Alycia; special friend, Mary Mulholland; and beloved dogs, Pax, Mier, and Pohoda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the church, 22nd & Washington Ave., Northampton. Family and friends may call Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Covid protocols are being followed for all services.

I can not believe it's been 3 years. Not a single doctor will be able to replace Dr. Ciecko. I mention this to people often in general conversation about medical care. Dr. Ciecko and his staff were top notch and are deeply missed.

Thank you Doctor for all you did for me.
The last of a vanishing breed. He was the hardest working Doctor I ever met. His care was without question.
He was a brilliant clinician & always had my best interests at heart. He had my unquestioned confidence.
My sympathies to his family.
Dr. Ciecko will be missed.
