I can't begin to tell you in what high regard I felt for Ed Crane. He was in that highest group of professionals with whom I was privileged to know and work.Be proud of the person and the professional. My prayers.

Chief Crane was an honorable, fair and kind man. His legacy at the Chicago Police Department is one of integrity. From reading the obituary it is evident that he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. I'll remember his fine example. Jack Halpin

Ed Crane was a superlative human being in every respect - his ability, his character and his humor. His strength was his sincere humility. Knowing and working with him was one of the highlights of my career. I regret not being able to say goodbye in person.
