Edward Ellis Obituary

Edward Lee Ellis of Everett, WA, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 of heart failure at the age of 81. He is now with his Lord and Savior. Ed leaves behind his best friend and wonderful wife, Jean Ellis. They were married August 1955. Blessed with three beloved children: Deborah Jean (Ellis) Carlson, Doug Ellis, Dianne Jewel (Ellis) Roberts and the world's best sons-in-law, Jess Carlson and David Roberts. God blessed Ed even more with seven very special/much adored grand-children: Dustin Lee Carlson, Chandra Dee (Carlson) Lacy, DJ Ellis, Theresa Christine (Ellis) Bahena, Madisyn Jean Roberts, Kami Nicole Roberts and Landyn Edward John Barton (two former daughters-in-law who were so gracious in sharing their children with us); DJ's mother, Laura and Theresa's mother, Suzy) and seven great grandchildren: Jasmine Bahena, Javier Bahena, Nyla Lacy, Anna-Marie Bahena, Isaac Ellis, DJ Lacy and Genevieve Ellis. Preceded in death were Ed's parents Henry (d. June 5, 1972) and Vivian (d. July 12, 1996) Ellis and brother Ken Tyson (d. September 27, 1983). Ed is survived by his brother, Bill Tyson. His bond was special with sisters-in-law, Lillian Tyson Urbauer of Gig Harbor, WA, Bobbie Tyson (d. September 28, 2017) of Tacoma, WA; cousins, Doris and Rich Smith and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was born in Everett June 16, 1937. Graduated in 1955 from Everett High School. Ed retired from GTE/Verizon in May 1991 after 37 years of service. His last position held was Service Area Manager Valley Operation. Ed spent his retirement years on Camano Island, WA, winter home in Apache Junction, AZ, and numerous cruises to Europe and South America. In April, he and Jean made the move to Washington Oakes in Everett, Washington. An avid golfer, member of Camaloch Men's Club, past member of Everett Golf and Country Club (EGCC), and served a three-year term on Board of Directors EGCC. He worked many years and organized the Roy Lewis Golf Tournament (played at EGCC) to benefit develop-mental disabled children. He had been a member of various Chambers of Commerce in Snohomish County and pass member of the Everett Yacht Club and Everett Elks. A Christian who was a member and married at Everett First Baptist Church in Everett. Attended Camano Chapel on Camano Island and Gold Canyon Methodist Church in Apache Junction. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Washington Oakes Retirement Center, 1717 Rockefeller, 3rd floor, Everett, WA. We will celebrate Ed's love of sports and would love everyone that can attend to wear their favorite sports team shirt.

Sorry to see that Ed departed - I remember from golf at Everett Muny and his brother from The Everett Rec pool room. All the best to his family and friends.

Jean and family I worked with Jean at GTE Data Services in 1970 until she moved back to GTNW. My name was Patty Weaver then. My prayers go out to your family. I remember how Jean would talk about Ed and her family Young Love and Old love is the best. Jean your kindness got me thru a rough time. PS I still remember what you got me for my 21st birthday. Ed was a good person, good guy, good golfer.We started playing golf together
in about 1953. If I remember correctly,
he once had, on number nine,an AMAZING uphill 255 yard 'whole-in-one' at EG&CC :-) Have not seen him for too long! Would NEVER have recognized his picture!
