Not sure what to say?

Monsignor Karl will be missed greatly. He was my Pastor at Holy Family School from 1980-1989. I met with him after my first son was born in 2006 and he blessed my baby for me. He looked exactly as I had remembered, except he had white hair. He also still smelled of the same cologne he wore back in the 80's. I will never forget him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family.

To Mary, Leo & Cathy, and ALL the Karl Family, we're so sorry for your loss. We didn't have the priveledge of being real family, but as part of Monsignor's St. Mary family we loved him . . thank you for sharing him with us, we'll pray for you, please pray for us,

My condolences to the family of Monsignor Ed. Though I met him I did not know him well but I was close to Paul and Margaret, close enough to consider him family.
I pray for his soul and for his extended family.

Monsignor Karl was such a kind, warm person. He took notice of the little things that mattered to people. He even warmed the water for our daughter's Baptism so she wouldn't cry. He touched so many lives and he will be missed by all. We send our condolences to his family.

Monsignor Karl will be greatly missed by all of St Mary's in Bethel and our condolences go to his family, parishioners and all who fondly remembered him. I was especially remembering his kindness and warmth. I only met him when visiting my daughter's family in Bethel, but remember him for all the "extras" he did during out grandchild's christening and during mass. He was truly a gift to the Catholic religion.

Condolences to Father Karl's family. I remember him as an assistant priest in St Luke's parish(Westport) when I was growing up and then againin Bethel at St Mary's.Bethel CT.
Always a kind, compassionate man of God.May he rest in peace.

Condolences to the Karl Family. I remember Father Karl as a teenager at Holy Family Parish in Fairfield. He was such a fixture in the church. We (my friends and myself), were a little afraid of him, but he was instrumental in my attending CYO dances, singing in the folk mass, teaching CCD and attending Mass (which I still do to this day). My prayers go out to his family.

I have many fond memories of Msgr. Karl growing up at Holy Family Parish in Fairfield. He always had a smile or a hug for you, but what I will always remember was his love of singing. He had a wonderful singing voice. I looked forward to him celebrating mass so I could enjoy his homilies as well as his wonderful singing. May you rest in peace, Edward B. Karl.

It's true that memories can make you sad and remind you of things you've lost. But they can also provide comfort and make you smile. Our wonderful memories of Father Karl have allowed us to remember lessons learned and to recall past pleasures of all kinds that we shared with him while living in Bethel. Please accept our condolences.
