Byles Memorial Home - New London Obituary

Edward “Ed” D. Moore, 59, of Groton, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024.

Ed was born on Kodiak Island, Alaska on April 23, 1965, the son of Ernest Dee Moore and Araminta Sue Crowhorn.

He attended Southeastern Tech and graduated from Fitch Sr. High School in 1983. He worked at the Fisher’s Island Ferry District, and then turned to a career in truck driving. He enjoyed the open roads, traveling across the U.S., up and down both coasts, the Midwest, wherever his deliveries and explorations brought him. He enjoyed fishing, white water rafting, and riding motorcycles. He loved spending time with his friends and family, reminiscing and having fun. He was a genuinely kind and caring person, who would not hesitate to help anyone in need. Ed had a great smile that would light up his face, and an infectious laugh that would make everyone around him laugh. He had aspirations to write a book about his life to share all of his adventures and experiences.

Ed was preceded by his parents, Ernest and Araminta Sue. He is survived by his sister Karen Sue, brother in law Clarence Ventura, and his fur niece Paisley Sue, his beloved Ventura extended family all from Groton, along with his soul-mate Sevil Wynne. He also leaves behind many more close friends and family, especially his caregivers/confidants Tiffany and Cindy whom were a big support to Ed.

Not sure what to say?

God bless and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss, Karen. I know how much you love Ed. You're in my prayers.

Eddie was a wonderful, kind and gentle soul. Loved his infectious laugh. Had the best sense of humor. Always enjoyed when he was around. RIP until we meet again. Karen & love ones, please except our heart felt condolences.

Single Memorial Tree

Dear Karen & the entire circle of Ed's family & friends,

When my mother died, even after a years-long battle with cancer, I was shattered by the loss inconsolable she was my mentor! BUT, "If your faith assures you she's in heaven, then what are the tears all about?" I hold eternity dearly close...a cherished, hard-won prize...but, in the interim, that answer lies below.

SELFISH TEARS
(I Eulogize My Beloved Mother - March, 1989)

Today we cry...must admit...

Eddie did have a way of putting a smile on your face. Not only was he big in nature but also big in heart. Sorry for your loss he will be missed but his memories will live on through friends and family.

Beautifully written and all so true, Eddie was a great fun loving guy. He will be missed but never too far away. All my love and condolences to karen, family and friends.
Sincerely,
Tesha
