Not sure what to say?

WHEN I THINK OF COACH NELSON I CAN ONLY SMILE, BECAUSE I REMEMBER HIS SMILE. THAT WHICH IS FROM THE HEART REACHES THE HEART. A FOND PARK COLLEGE MEMORY. TO THE FAMILY BE BLESSED.
PRAYERS AND CARES.

To all the Nelson family,
I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing, especially so soon after the loss of your mom. It is hard enough to bear the loss of one. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I pray you know that they are in a much better place and will hold all the memories close to your heart. Take comfort in knowing that all will be reunited some day. I am sure both are watching over you. If you need anything, please let us know.

Coach Nelson was always encouraging to me in our PE classes and I thought highly of him and his sense of humor. I ran into him a few years after I graduated from Park when he was scouting a basketball game in Joplin. He remembered me and we reminisced about Park from 60 - 64. He was a very good man.

The world is so small these days with the web. My Dad stent me an e-mail from vacation telling me your Dad had passed. I an so sorry that I did not hear in time to attend service. My prayers are with you all. Your Dad was a gem.

After reading all of the entries about Coach Nelson, I feel sorry that I never met him. He must have been a very special person. He left behind a wonderful son. I'm so sorry Brad. I know you will miss him. My heart goes out to you.

Dear Nelson family,

I am so sorry for the losses you have experienced this past year. Your mother was a kind, sweet and lovely lady. And, your father was the perfect compliment. I feel blessed to have had him as a teacher at Park Hill (84 grad). He taught me to enjoy the foundations of math which made it easy for me to go on to higher learning math principles. I remember trying to be lazy about difficult problems. He had the ability to not tolerate laziness in a student and...

Ed Nelson was one of the finest people I have ever met. In 1979, I was hired to replace another coach at the high school. Ed made it a point to come to me and shake my hand, welcome me to the high school coaching staff, and added that he would be happy to help me in whatever I needed. Over the years, I fell out of touch with Ed, but I will never forget his friendship. He taught me more than he will ever know about coaching. He was a great mentor for me. Thank you, Ed, for making me a...

Brad, Greg and Sheri,
I very seldom open my home e-mail since I use the laptop from the school I teach. When I did Sunday morning I discovered the devastating news of your father. Please accept my sincere regrets. I do want you all to know how much Ed meant to so many of us. Of course, I got to know your dad at Park College and then worked with him at PHHS. Each of you will be in my thoughts and prayers. May God continue to Bless your families in this time of...
