Not sure what to say?

Best man thus world has ever seen.. none better. Greatest wildland fireman in the history of cdf/ calfire. Most respected man in the organization. Mike Keesee retired BC.

Ed Poe, (aka "1411") hired me as the Mt. Jackson lookout in the summer of 1980 to partner with the legendary Maggie Loundagin. I am forever grateful to Ed, as it was the best job I've ever had. Ed was kind, caring and a 100% wonderful man. He will live on in our memories and also in our hearts. Signing out from Mt. Jax KMB237

My sincere, heartfelt condolences to all who knew this fine gentleman.
I worked with Ed in the early '90's. Actually, Ed trained me to be 'The Other Lookout', working with Dick Bower, up at Pole Mountain Lookout. My first season, if I wasn't working my shift at the lookout, I was driving around Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake, Napa, and Solano Counties with Ed introducing me to Everyone! Ed had a story for everywhere we drove and everyone we met. When we stopped for lunch, Ed would use that time...

Glad to meet Edward what great stories. He will be missed.! Gorege keep in touch. Rosie Waters

I worked with and for ED SEVERAL YEARS Boonville--Howard FOREST and Mendocino woodlands.Ed knew his fire service and loved it all.Ed was a good man, worked hard and could tell a lot of stories. As a director of Sonoma Valley fire rescue i loved to set next to Ed at the county fire association deniers, We talked about old times and how we were the good old fire fighters. I WILL MISS YOU Ed, rest in peace RANGER.

I am so sorry to learn of Ed's passing. I had the privilege to meet him at the age of 14 when he was the 1411 Battalion Chief on the river. He was a great influence on me and made me a better person, influencing my career. I will see you another day Ed. On Saturday we will Tip the State your way as many people will travel to pay their last respects. RIP my friend. Respectfully, Chris Wikeen, Ret Novato Fire, Chief of Lake California Fire.
