Hi Grandpa Rossi, I was thinking about you tonight. I don't remember that much about my times with you, except I do vaguely remember losing my bottom front teeth some time down in Texas. Much love.

Will brother its been 2 and half years, since you left us. What a terrible night that was. The tears still come, but not as often. I miss you every day. I was going to say hello on your birthday, but I couldnt gain the strength. Now, 5 days have passed. Its early Sunday morning, and Ive mustered up with some coffee and here I am, weeping. I miss you and Anne every day. I pray you two have found each other and are playing cards, and youre saving a chair for me. The two most important souls in my life - gone. I feel empty often. As you probably know, 2017 was a horrible year, just as 2014. Im living in a Tin Can and its not too bad. Daddy wouldnt like it. Watch over us down here. We need help. Ill see you soon, my brother.

Our dear sweet Eddie. Yesterday was the second anniversary of your passing and George and I were reminiscing about all the fun times we shared with you...the road trips to Colorado, San Antonio, Galveston, the Northside and wherever else your heart desired. We were your captives and we loved it!! We remember your amazing goodness, generosity, work ethic, integrity, respect for others, especially the elderly, and your zest for living. You were a true example of everything good in this world. Your memory brings us so many smiles and laughter. Though our hearts still hurt, we are consoled by the wonderful memories of the house parties, spaghetti dinners and poker games. You were a huge part of our lives and we will never forget you. May you rest peacefully in God's grace until we meet again.

December 10, 2015

To all the family and friends of Eddie Rossi,

Please allow me to express my condolences in the loss of our dear one. He was so funny and so much fun to be around. We all loved him very much. I've been waiting to write something, but it has just been too difficult for his brother and me. Tony, still has problems with Eddie's passing. Although, Tony grieves all the time, when we're at a restaurant where we all ate together or when we are doing something we all did together, he tears up and takes time to reflect on the enjoyment he had with his brother. We talk about him all the time, mostly with laugher, but sometimes with tears in our eyes. There'll never be another Ed Rossi! Kind, generous, mentor to many young boys, and full of life.

The words that keep coming to my mind are, Lo, I am with you alway. Our Lord is more than sufficient to comfort us when we are grieving. Through Him, we can be assured that Eddie is alive - his light is just twinkling on the other side of the cross. We can all rejoice that he will always be remembered in our hearts, forever reassured that he is loved and remembered by his family and friends as we continue our life's journey.

Until we see Eddie's smiling face on the other side of the cross.

In God's love,
Anne and Tony Rossi

It is with a heavy heart that I write this after learning of Mr. Rossi's passing.

I had the honor of working for Mr. Rossi while I was in high school and college during the 80's. Now that I have my own kids in high school, I am amazed at how trusting he was to let me drive his trucks to pick up newspapers downtown and deliver them all over northwest Houston.

Add me to the list of many that Mr. Rossi treated like his own son imparting wisdom and providing opportunity. He set a great example to me of someone that worked hard in order to be successful and support his family.

The entire Rossi family will be in my thoughts and prayers during this time.

September 21, 2014

We are saddened to learn about Ed's passing. We were surprised to hear his name included in the prayer request for those who died when we attended Mass at St. Ignatius Loyola church earlier this evening.

May he rest in peace in the arms of our Lord and may God comfort his family in their bereavement.

I to knew Ed Rossi for 44 years, he gave me my first paper route in West University.He bought me a bicycle to use for the route and deducted it in payments on my newspaper bill.As I grew older I even became his helper, driving his pickup as my brother David had done years before. on a weekly basis we played poker, hearts, or spades along with my brother David and Jack Angel. We did this for many years. He always treated me like a son, and his 3 children were good friends of mine. This world has truly lost a very kind and gentle man Love, Don Rogers

Through the years that I have been acquainted with Mr. Eddie he was a man who would leave an imprint on me. The sublime vibe that followed him let people know this is a wonderful man with an extraordinary heart and a charming character within. I am grateful to have met and wished to have known him better though his commemoration will allow me as well as others grasp an in-depth image of his great life. A soul now entered in Heavens palace, the memories will remain here with friends and family.What words lack to say, our hearts will whisper to him thank you for the time with us. As we say good-bye, please welcome the peace you well deserve. All love and prayers,

Ed was the best brother-in-law anyone could ask for. Ed was gentle and kind and a true gentleman. He brought much joy and happiness to our family. He would take time to help in anyway needed. I remember and will never forget when he helped me deliver the Chronicle Sundays newspapers in Pasadena when I could not find anyone to help me on the weekends We were blessed to have someone so wonderful come into our lives. Ed you will be greatly missed, but our love will never fade.

To my lifelong friend, may you rest in eternal peace, You were a father I didn't have. A mentor, and a friend for over 44 years. We had a great time together, including our trip to Anchorage, Alaska to see the Iditarod! You kept me in stitches and now in tears, May God take care of you my friend.

September 16, 2014

Eddie was a father figure to so many young kids and if you were lucky enough to work for him as a young kid you were blessed. Eddie gave me a paper route back in the sixties when we all lived on the North side of Houston. Eddie was a true hero to all of us .Eddie gave us our first opportunity to make money the honest way.Eddie taught us the meaning of responsibility and commitments. We would roll our papers every afternoon at Eddies Humble Station on Fulton Street.We could not wait to get back to the station and help him wait on his customers. We would get in his way most of the time and we gave him plenty to laugh about.Eddie would let us ride with him if he had a errand to run and we would run to be the first one in the front seat and we felt like big shots sitting with him. Eddie had a white Chevy truck and you could hear him coming down the street blocks away and you knew you were about to get to work ,rain,sleet, snow or shine but we knew Eddie was never far behind and he was watching over us. Eddie made us feel safe .Mike Haun and I have shared many stories about growing up on the north side and some story about Eddie would always come up. Eddie has always been a strong influence in my life and always will be. I will always be grateful for the time he spent with me. Gary Kirby

Karen Busse

He achieved success and lived well, laughed often and loved much, gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children, filled his niche and accomplished his task; left the world better than he found it; always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; his life was an inspiration, and memory a benediction. This was Ed Rossi.

When I remember Uncle Eddie, I'll remember the gift of his time that he gave so freely. I'll remember him standing as part of my family on one of the most special days of my life. I'll remember his support during my bike riding days always volunteering his SUV to pick us up at our final destination. I'll remember his love for his baby brother that showed in his eyes each time they were together. I'll remember his laughter, his love and his presence. I know Kerbi has found you by now….you loved her so much and she loved you….I'm sure that love has served as a beacon. Godspeed Uncle Eddie until we meet again.

Once touched in our life with a soul like Eddie, one can only envy on Heaven's newest gift... Robert Burns wrote this poem that makes my point quite clear,

Epitaph on a Friend
"An honest man here lies at rest,
The friend of man, the friend of truth,
The friend of age, and guide of youth:
Few hearts like his, with virtue warm'd,
Few heads with knowledge so inform'd;
If there's another world, he lives in bliss;
If there is none, he made the best of this."

You remain in our Hearts, forever. Rest In Peace, Our Friend.
