There are no words that can make you feel better, but know that in time, it does get a little easier.
My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary back in 1994, and we were fortunate to have both Ed & Sophie attend. (Eddie was an usher at my parent's wedding back in 1944 and had not seen him since, so it was a special time indeed for all.)
My dad has since passed on - now he and Eddie can create more havoc together.
