Not sure what to say?

My deepest and most sincere condolences in your time of sorrow. May you find comfort in the knowledge that your husband/father/father-in law lived a full and fruitful life and was much-loved by those that knew him and was VERY proud of you, his family. Mr. S. was a Fishtown fixture and I have SO many pleasant memories of my interactions with him. As a child running up to Girard Ave. to drop off or retrieve my Dad’s work shoes, my school shoes or whoever else’s shoes in the family that...

Mrs. Staniszewski, Fran and Eric,

We are sending our sincere condolences on the passing of your loving Husband/Father/Father-In-Law. We are sure Fishtown will be missing an important icon of the city. Bob and I will be thinking of your families at this difficult time.

Toni and Bob.

Dear Aunt Frances, Such love is hard to find like the kind that you & Uncle Eddie shared. You have taught us all what a beautiful union is all about!

Mrs. S, Frannie and Eric,
My deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. S. He was one of the nicest and approachable people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. He always had a smile on his face when ever I saw him along with shoe polish on his hands. As everyone knows, he was a wonderful husband and father and one heck of a shoe repairman. I had a pair of shoes that latest me 20 years because every two years Mr. S would resole them and never charge me a penny. I will remember him as a...

Although you do not know me personally, my husband grew up in Fishtown he and his family and had the privilage of knowing your husband for almost 50 years. He was a kind man who loved his customers. May he rest in peace. My condolences to you and your daughter (whom he spoke about all the time). Barbara & Jack Rilling

My deepest and sorrowful condolences to the Staniszewski family. Last summer when Mr. Staniszeski fixed the soles of my favorite pair of Kenneth Coles I wanted to kiss him. He made them new again. I told him I didn't know what I would have done without him all these years. He laughed and said "honey you better figure something out I'm not gonna be here forever". I told him I didn't want to think about it, now I have to. Very sad to hear of his passing. Many a pair of my shoes lasted me so...

Mrs. Staniszewski, Fran and Eric,
I remember coming into the store and seeing Mr. Staniszewski working diligently, covered in shoe polish and/or grease, with a big smile, pleasant comment and a hug all ready. He was a true gentleman, who loved you all very much. My sympathies to you on the loss of this gentle and caring man. He will be missed.

To the Staniszewski-Herr family. My sincere condolences. Ed was a kind and a very smart man. I had the pleasure of catering some of the important milestones for his family. I know he will be truly missed.
