Edward Wasil Obituary

Wasil, Edward
LITHONIA, Ga. - Following a lengthy battle with cancer, Edward "Ed" Joseph Wasil, 73, passed away peacefully, at his residence, on June 23, 2025. He was born in Albany, N.Y., on May 6, 1952, and was the son of the late Edward J. and Eleanor Wasil.
Ed graduated from Colony High School, Albany, N.Y., in 1970. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1973 working in the nuclear power field. Upon discharge from the Navy, his career in the nuclear power field spanned more than 35 years. His career continued when he and a partner established a company dedicated to providing consulting staff for nuclear power plants.
He was a faithful member of the Elks and Eagles, a lifetime member of the VFW and DAV, and a proud Eagle Scout.
Ed is remembered fondly as a legendary storyteller. If allowed, he would "talk your ear off," bringing the colorful characters to life, with his signature sense of humor. He especially loved rock and roll, as well as polka music.
Ed is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Julie Ann (Shenk) Wasil; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; a niece and nephews; numerous cousins; and Redman, his rescue dog.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Conyers First Methodist Church, Conyers, Ga., or, PAWS Atlanta.
