Not sure what to say?

I was a very frightened Colombian student at Middlebury College from sep 1966 till jun 1968. It was my first time away from home. I've always remembered Dr. Worthen as a very kind man. I learned a lot in his Spanish Literature classes. I could tell that he loved Mexico and enjoyed visiting there every time he had a chance. For many years I tried to get in touch with him with no luck. I want to thank him for being one of the nicest persons I met during my very hard two years at...

Siento mucho el fallecimiento del "Tío Lalo", una magnífica persona, que adoptó como sobrinos a mí y mi familia, descanse en paz, Javier Lomas González y familia.

I took care of Ed's houses and camps doing carpentry ect., which was such a pleasure for me , because I always found him to be a kind and caring man, also very smart and interesting. It was a pleasure to have been able to know him, He will be missed.

ed and I were really good friends I enjoyed the holidays when ED would write a hand written letter to sue and I my wife . We enjoyed a visit every once in a while just to catch up . I worked for ED for years on the BIRCHES property. the thing I liked about ED he was never to busy to stop and talk to you . I met ED through Pat Powers his friend and mine . II worked for Pat then ED asked if I could do thinks for him and the years added up fast . ill miss ED very much and my visits come to a...

I am greatly saddened to hear of the loss of Ed Worthen. My visits with him over the last 25 years were always a delight, for there was no topic that Ed could not speak of. His love for the history of his family and his ability to make them and the events they were associated with come alive in conversation were an inspiration and a joy to listen too. He will be greatly missed.

Cousin Ed was a kind and gentle man and I have fond memories of his visits to MN when I was child. I would be so thrilled when we would go for a Sunday visit at Grandma Petty's and Cousin Ed was there! My last visit with Cousin Ed was when he was completing the McKendree biography-- he had came to MN for one last photo. We had a pleasant visit over lunch, and he mentioned he could use a new pair of walking shoes. After lunch we went to MOA. It was quite an afternoon adventure... Cousin Ed got...

My strongest memory of Ed was when I was fortunate enough to spend almost two weeks with him in Mexico, in 1971 while he was working on cataloging American cemeteries in Mexico City (I think that is right). I still believe I learned more Spanish in those two weeks than in 2 years of college level Spanish. Being my mother's cousin, we weren't sure how we were related, so he was my tio/primo (uncle/cousin) and I was his sobrino/primo (nephew/cousin). We looked forward to his Christmas...

Ed was an important part of our family for many years. He made our mother Patricia so happy, as her constant friend and companion. They shared a common love for cats, worldly explorations, and the NYT Sunday Crossword Puzzle. Eduardo, we'll miss you!
