Edwin McBride Obituary

Edwin "Buzzy" Lewis McBride Jr., 88, of Madison Heights, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Runk & Pratt Assisted Living in Forest. He was the husband of the late Alice Jean Bryant McBride.

Born March 15, 1934 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Edwin Lewis McBride Sr. and Mary Hunt McBride. He was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas E. "Tec" McBride and a sister, Mary Eva Lee. Buzzy was a licensed Optician and provided optical services to the Lynchburg community for over 60 years. He was a member of Amelon U.M. Church.

Buzzy is survived by two daughters, Stefani M. Martin (Earl) of Madison Heights and Kathy M. "Kate" McBride (David Hantoot) of Richmond; six grandchildren, Amanda Bigham (Weston), Jessica Wingfield (Carlton), Rebecca Hantoot (Matthew), Aaron Hantoot, Edwin T. McBride (Anna Lawhorne) and Thomas McBride; and four great grandchildren, Chase, Trey, Allie, and Lilly.

Buzzy had a true love for his family, his church, and now his dog, Jack, that has been waiting for the reuniting in heaven.

A memorial service to celebrate Buzzy's life will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Amelon U.M. Church with Pastor Dave Edinger officiating.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Runk & Pratt at Forest and Seven Hills Hospice.
