My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. Dr. Mehlman was the consummate professional and truly committed to the Samuels clinic, serving the underserved at RI Hospital. So devoted to our program, he signed on early as a volunteer weekly in the clinic, and from time to time he joined us in the operating room. He was a stalwart volunteer, and the staff loved him.
