Eileen Cadden Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 8, 2018.
In Loving Memory of Eileen Louella Cadden who was born December 16, 1927 in Star City, Saskatchewan and passed away March 8, 2018 in Kelowna, B.C. Eileen was married to the love of her life, Donald Herbert Cadden on April 19, 1949.

Mom always had a smile for everyone. She loved Country music.
Mom and Dad attended the music festivals in Merritt for many years.
They even made a trip to Branson, Missouri. Mom and Dad both
loved to camp and fish. Maybe that's why they went into partnership
with friends to buy Dee Lake when Dad retired. Mom hated winters so
Dad would take her to Mexico in the winter for a break. Mom was shy
but found the courage to do new things. She started cross-country
skiing after she turned 50 and tried downhill skiing at 63 years old.
She was an avid curler for many years.

Mom enjoyed her home at the Dorchester. She loved to play bingo,
bocce and tiles. She was an avid walker and remained active until her
last days. She joined the Dorchester walking group with the aim to
"Walk Across Canada". Each day they marked out the route and how
far they had traveled on the map. She was very proud of their
accomplishment. Just recently, at 90 years young, Mom joined the
choir. She told us "I don't have a very good voice but I knew all the
words to the songs and it was fun!"

Family and friends were always important to Mom and Dad. They had
a way of "taking people into the family." They were generous to
others, open and fun-loving. They always had a way of making all of
us feel special. Mom carried this on after Dad passed away. She will
be missed but remembered by all who loved her.
