Elaine Schanberger Obituary
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, 610 W. MacPhail RD, Bel Air, MD 21014, on Sunday, November 28, 2021, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, at 10 AM, at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Bel Air Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be left for the family at

We just heard about Elaines passing, so we didn't know it. We moved here to bel air at the same time as Don and Elaine in 1971. We were good friends for a long time and lived across the street. Sorry to hear about Her passing.

We just found out about Elaines death on December 10. We bought our houses together in 1971. They had been good friends. Sorry I didn't know it sooner.

Elaine was a new friend but quickly became a good friend. Originally, she was part of our large genealogy library group. When the pandemic put an end to our meetings, a few of us began to casually get together at Friends´ Park. We brought our chairs and in the cold we took our blankets, in the heat, we looked for shade. We talked about genealogy but mostly we chatted about our children and grandchildren and the present-day situation. During those times we came to know each other better. I looked forward to seeing Elaine. She always had a positive prospective. Elaine was pleasant, kind, understanding and a good listener. She was there every week except when she celebrated her birthday with her children in a New Orleans hurricane. My friendship with Elaine was short but I was fortunate because she made it a joyful journey. Friends´ Park will never be quite the same for us.
