Not sure what to say?

When I was a little boy of 7, I wrote Mr. Dubenion a letter to wish him well after he hurt his leg, and also to wishfully follow up on rumors that he might move into our neighborhood. I still have the long, appreciative letter that he wrote in reply.

One of the greatest AFL icons. Buffalo Bills legend. The man's name itself evokes images of royalty. My belated condolences to Mr. Dubenion's friends and loved ones. May you all be blessed with eternal love.

I attended Fairwood elementary school, Roosevelt Jr high and south high with him, he graduated a half year befor I did by going to summer school. He was one of the nicest boys I was ever around and I think of him often even after all these years. Watching the Bills tonight brought back those memories. It was and is an honor to have him in my life.

When the AFL first started I was 14 years and developing a deep love for the game of football which last till this day. I had a second cousin who was a DC athlete of note and a true sports aficionado. I asked him about the new league's chances of surviving in the shadow vaunted NFL. As chance would have it Buffalo...

My dad and maybe my mom and brother seen him played for the Bills in their '60s heyday. We shall never forget u, Golden Wheels!

My dad passed away 2 years ago and he told me so many great stories about Doby and himself on the football field at Bluffton College My prayers go out to his family and friends.

I would like to express my deepest sympathies to the family for the loss of a talented man, who will be remembered for his athletic abilities. May you find comfort and strength in God during this time of sorrow.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your loved one Mr. Elbert Dubenion. May the God of all comfort be with you during this difficult time in your lives. We all yearn for better conditions. It's refreshing to know that God's word speaks of a time when all sorrows will be gone and that mankind will live in beautiful surroundings with nothing to fear.
