Not sure what to say?

Dear Ant Betty,
You were one of a kind...that is for sure!...In a great way!!!...wonderful, fun, talented, fun Ant. Loved the smile, humor, dancing, Palo Alto & Aptos homes, baked potatoes in the oven & comfy booth in your kitchen...visits with you & Uncle Frank in your family room. We love you, Patty Barrett-Mugge & Family

I knew I had the coolest "ant" on the planet when she took me to see The Modern Jazz Quartet at the "Mem. Odd." when I was in high school. I rememder her taking a bunch of us to see the Preservation Hall Jazz Band when I was much younger. How cool is that?!!!
Custards
Dancing
Two pianos
Boogie Woogie
The twinkle in her eye .
All wonderful memories of a wonderful women.
I love you Ant.

A white plate of lightly salted beefsteak tomato slices (what a clever lunch)
Gazing out the window to a backyard apricot tree on a street named for a wild poet
Looking from Velma’s smiling eyes over to my godmother’s smiling face
Playing with Bill Ding in the basement, rustling about in the mysterious brat house
Learning boogie-woogie at her elbow after I tired of my scales and minuets
Bicycling on the wooden runways of the Palo Alto marshlands under the great...

I am still eating and loving custard. I still play the boggie woggie on the piano. Which is all I have retained form years of piano lessions with Aunt Betty. One of the hand scales Aunt Betty taught me and I sill am working on is EGBDF (Every Good Boy Does Fine) I almost have that down, must keep practicing. Soon I will recieve a smilly face and a gold star on my hand and a cup of custard.
Thats it now, I'm going so you can leave now too.

The hard toffee candies that she pulled out of her purse, deftly, furtively sneaking a piece into your hand....The warm, honey colored homemade custards that came out of her pink kitchen...."The Sheik of Araby" - between the sheets without a shirt....Dashing into the ocean at Rio Del Mar no matter the temperature...backstrokes with vigor...Two pianos, so many songs and dances with her brother, sisters, and nephews at every wedding, and family celebration....direct to the heart of it...she...

Dearest Aunt Betty -

Anyone who had the great pleasure of meeting and knowing you, will never ever forget you.

Thank you Auntie for all the warm smiles, for all the laughs, for all the dance moves and for all the beautiful piano music. You were a centerpiece of joy and Heaven is surely a lot happier right now....

Love,

Nephew Larry Barrett

Fun Memories on the beach with you in the ocean and Uncle Frank flying overhead. Beach hats on your bedroom wall, the color pink, custards in the oven, 2 piano concerts, the first to get up and dance on my wedding day. Thank you, Godmother!
