Not sure what to say?

Dear Edgar, I just heard the news. I am filled with a deep sadness in her passing, yet a joy in having known and loved her. I remember so many conversations that I had with her about sewing, cooking, and her travels in Mexico. I will treasure the handwritten recipe cards that she gave to me. The world has truly been blessed by her presence for 110 years. I consider myself honored to have been her neighbor, and to have learned so much from her. I have no doubt that she is amongst the...

Hi Ed: You were such a devoted son! I'm sure that's why she made it to 110! All our best from all the Dows.

Joanne and I were deeply saddened to learn of Elizabeth's death this week. Ed, your mother was a wonderful woman who personified grace and dignity. We were honored to share her 105th and 110th birthday celebrations. Northbridge, the Commonwealth, and America were blessed to have her with us for so long exemplifying how to live life to the fullest.

Dear Mr. Gauthier, I am very sorry to learn about the loss of your mother. May she rest in peace and may your memories sustain you. Sincerely, Martha Duggan (Bancroft '74 and then BS in French thanks to your guidance and inspiration...)

Mr. Gauthier,

I hope the many memories you have of such wonderful adventures with your mother comfort you during this difficult time.

She will be missed by many,
Monica Ortiz and family

Dear Ed,
Your Mother was such an incredible woman with so much spunk and such a zest for life. She lived life to the fullest. You have so many happy memories of all those good times and great trips. Our prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Love,

Dear Edgar, I was sad to hear that your mother had passed away but am glad that you two were able to be together for so many years. I think of you every time I see photos of you in the Bancroft Bulletin! Remember how we did book reports in the car going to school? Hope you are still getting to travel. Be well and remember all your good memories.

Dear Ed, Elizabeth, Mrs. Gauthier, Betty, Mother Gauthier =very special lady. Edgar = very special son. Wednesday we will celebrate her life but today Paul and I have a deep sense of sadness that she is no longer a part of our lives in the same way. Mrs. Gauthier was a source of inspiration in general and loveliness in particular. It was an honor when she called me her adopted daughter - one of many I'm sure. Go with God and rest in peace.
