LAYNE, Elizabeth Mary, 90, of Henrico, Virginia passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Allen Layne; son, Glen Beasley; parents, Paul and Mary Strickler; one sister, and one brother. She is survived by her daughters, Gayle Staten and Rose Smith; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Sweeney, Jane Murray, and Paul Strickler (Linda); and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a great caregiver, raising three generations. She was a faithful parishioner at First Free Will Baptist Church for many years. She will be remembered for her smile and kindness and will be missed dearly by those who knew her. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S Washington Hwy. Ashland, VA 23005 where a funeral service will begin at 11 am.
