Mom volunteered and was an active participant for years at the Yorba Linda Senior Center. She also was an active member at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Placentia. She and her husband, Jim volunteered as Eucharistic Ministers during Communion each weekend mass.
Betty enjoyed gardening, creating ornaments, home decorations, and crafting exquisite jewelry. She made and gave to many friends and family. She also loved to swim and was an active participant in water aerobics in her retirement community. Betty enjoyed going out with her boyfriend, Tony Alustiza for events at the Yorba Linda Senior Center. They enjoyed many festivities there with their friends, exercised, watched movies, sang songs, and danced.
Shortly after moving to a care home in Upland, CA, Betty died from respiratory failure that was caused from lung cancer.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Susan of Las Vegas, NV, Colleen of Grand Prairie, TX, Mary Louise of Upland, CA, Granddaughters Jessica, Erin, Caitlin, Kelly Anne, Lauren, Briana, and Great Grandchildren Jayden, Jenna, and Emma. I can still hear Betty's laughter! She always had a smile and a warm hug when we would see her. I have a picture of Betty & Jim in our wedding album when she was pregnant in 1962. When I had my breast cancer, Betty made me a beautiful crystal bracelet and sent it to me. She always thought of other people and gave from her heart. I have saved some of her notes that she sent to me, because when I reread them, I can hear her voice. I cherish her memory in my heart and know she is in the presence of God!

So many memories- so many laughs!! Lots and lots of hugs and love. She was always a BRIGHT light not only at family events but even at home just hanging out. I treasure the memories I have of her, Uncle Jim and of course Mary, Colleen and Susan, when I would stay at your house for the summers!! aunt Betty & I used to chat online late at night because we are both night owls ❤ I miss her, I miss your dad too. I need to remember to smile and be grateful that they played a major part in my life!! Love you all and I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss.
