Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences to the Troutman family. I had the pleasure of taking care of Elka as her nurse for a couple of weeks, and treasure the conversations we had. We spoke of the meaning of life, and within thirty minutes of meeting her, she told me about the wonderful support she has received from her loving community. She spoke of the importance of family and her involvement in local activities. She was an incredibly special person, and I send my best wishes and prayers to Jeff and her...

Jeff, Jake and Josh,

I knew Elka from JCC Clearbrook, summer reading , book club, x-country & track with the boys. Jeff -we met briefly a couple of times at the Ashland 5K -Elka always forwarded photos that you took -she was so thoughtful.

She wasn't someone I saw all that often, but when I did -it was like we continued a conversation right where we left off. She was so funny, direct, honest, caring & full of great Yiddish expressions. I know there are no words that can...

Our heart and prayers go to the Troutman's Family! May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. You all will be in our prayers!

The Hughes Family

To Louise, Irwin, Ellen, Shari, Faith,
There are no words to describe this great loss. Elka is in all my adolescent memories...taking the T everyday in snow or shine to Lubavitch, copying from her notes during class because she wrote as fast as the teacher spoke, going to movies, davening in shul together, going to the library every Friday, and all those shabboses in your home where we talked for hours about what girls talk about.
Elka had a great sense of humor and it was fun to be...

I received numerous emails from Elka during my daughter's early school years as she organized activities and colaborative opportunities for all parents. Elka was an excellent woman that will be missed by all, however, she will always be remembered! Your family has been in our thoughts and prayers. The Tang family.

It was with dismay and pain that we heard of Elkie's passing. We well remember her when she lived down the street from us in Newton and what a wonderful and loving daughter and aunt she was. She will be fondly remembered. Baruch Dayan Ha'Emet.
With deep condolences

Our love,
Cecilia and Dennis McIsaac and daughters Denise and Andrea.

Elka was an amazing person who gave so much to our community. We will miss her, especially at the fields watching our kids' baseball games. Our prayers go out to Jeff, Josh, and Jake at this very difficult time.
