Not sure what to say?

With our deepest sympathy to the family of Ellen Maverick Dickson upon her passing. Although we did not know Ellen, we feel an inexplicable tie to the Maverick family, having owned and lived in the old Maverick home on E. Sunshine for the last 40 plus years. Occasionally we have met a couple of you who have stopped by to chat on the front porch with us or take a peak inside at the same old rock walls and wood floors where you spent time. Our family, including children, grandchildren, and...

Thinking of you all. Your mom was special to all of us in the Jockusch family--always interested in us, engaging, and so full of life. I will miss her.

Someone as special as Aunt Ellen will remain in all of our hearts. She was beautiful person inside and out.

I have such fun and happy memories of Ellen and the family. My prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Jenny & I will miss Aunt Ellen very much. Her elegance, dignity, southern charm, love for family, friends and a deep honor towards our Lord God will always be remembered! May the Lord comfort all. Kind Regards, Johnny Jones Chiang Mai, Thailand

Sincerest condolences to the family; the passing of an icon. Such a lovely, dignified woman who has treasured, and clearly been treasured by, her family.

On behalf of the Thomas A. Edison Class of 1958, condolences to the family and friends of this lovely woman we knew as Miss Maverick, teacher.

I remember Ellen since I was a young boy. I remember being with the group who took Ellen, my grandmother, Agatha Welsh, and my sister, Melba Welsh, to the San Antonio airport for their trip to Europe in about 1951 or '52..... when she married Al in Florence. She was a dear person. Norval John Ellsworth Welsh, III (youngest sibling of Melba, Jane, and Agnes Welsh & grandchild of Agatha Welsh)
