Ellie Hawse

Ellie and I became friends in the last year. I grew to love her and looked forward to seeing her each visit. We shared many memories in that short time. She loved her family and was so proud of each of them. I will miss her.

We met Lionel and Ellie soon after moving to Lexington in 1984. We quickly became dear friends who enjoyed many adventures together over the years. Ellie was intelligent and kind, could tell a good story, and was a great hostess whose parties we always enjoyed attending. We will miss our friend very much!

I am so sorry to hear this, Hawse family. I knew her through our mutual associations in the group of lawyer wives. She was an outstanding person and a just a lovely woman.

As chairman of the Southern Hills antique market I depended on Ellie's excellent advice. Every year, she would say to me, I prayed to my friend God for a sunny day, and She would answer, Ok. It worked every time.
