Read MoreBeing one of the Hardee's gang. I always looked forward to seeing Ellis each morning. We talked much about the UVA basketball team. Ellis, myself, along with another Hardee's gang member Chip,went to see the future National Champion Cavaliers play in 2019. Ellis really enjoyed seeing his Cavaliers play. He was a friend and he will be missed by many.

My condolences go out to Ellis' family. I was married to Ellis December 22, 1984 so we shared a lot of memories. We met at Virginia Inn where we'd go dancing. He did love his pigeons. He use to show them and win trophies for them. They were "rollers". We had a good life together until it just didn't work anymore. He's always had a special place in my heart and memories.
