Not sure what to say?

As I write in this guess book, I reflect on the memories of Popeye, Joe, Mr. Robinson, The Plumber brothers and a host of others who made Fitchburg home. In my travels since I left Fitchburg, I have met a lot of people who was station at Fort Devens and had visited Fitchburg during their stay at fort devens and the majority of them remember Popeye.
I can remember when Norma Jean and Popeye were married and how happy Popeye looked that day. As others have said, I still remember Popeye...

I WAS SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR LOSS. MY MEMORIES OF FITCHBURG WILL ALWAYS BE OF POPEYE, NORMA (WALKER FAMILY) AND ALL THOSE WHO MADE UP THE SMALL AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY DURING THE SIXTIES. WHEN POPEYE AND NORMA WERE MARRIED, I WAS HER MAID OF HONOR. THEY BOTH HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART. I SINCERELY HOPE THAT YOUR FAMILY IS COMFORTED BY THE HOPE THAT GOD'S WORD PROVIDES (Rev 21:3,4) AND PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS.

May the peace of God keep your hearts and minds. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Please know that Popeye was a man that touched many of people. He was one of the first people that my family meet, when we moved to Fitchburg., back in 1965. He was a friend to my whole family, even thought he was my brother Lester and sister Sue age. My parents Buck and Ella-Jane loved him as one of their own. Popeye alway had kind spirit. There are many people who are not with us today, who...

He was the first man to ever take up for me. I loved walking into the bar on north street and seeing him smile. I will never forget him. He was a uncle and a friend. REST IN PEACE.

Uncle Popeye?, I will never forget sleeping over your house when i was younger and you coming home rubbing my check saying "Hi Baby". I am so glad to of had you as my Uncle. I love you very much and you will be missed deeply.
For my Baldwin cousins...I am so sorry for your loss, I love you all very much and I'm here for you all.
Love, Boobie

my deepest sympathy to all the extended family......
God bless you all !
