Emily Dolvin Obituary


Family-Placed Death Notice

Mrs. Emily Gordy Dolvin, died peacefully, in her home on December 2, 2006. Mrs. Dolvin was a long time member of Roswell Presbyterian Church and very active in helping to start the Roswell Parks system as we know them today. She was instrumental in starting the Roswell Youth day parade, to recognize our youth in the city. Her husband, Mr. W. J. Dolvin was a school principal and long term educator in the school systems. Dolvin Elementary School bears his name sake. Mrs. Dolvin is survived by her daughters, Mary Lee and David Bagwell, Kingsport, TN, Midge Schultz, Dacula, GA; grandchildren, Melissa Scheurer, Marsha Hammond, Michelle Stapleton, Chad Brannon, Josh Brannon, Christine Schultz; seven great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2 PM in the Roswell Presbyterian Church. Dr. Lane Alderman, Rev. Richard Hill and Rev. John Wolfe, officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence on Monday and Tuesday from 3 until 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dolvin Foundation, Dolvin Elementary School, 10495 Jones Bridge Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30022 or to a charity of your choice in memory of Mrs. Emily Dolvin.
