Not sure what to say?

Dearest Emily, You are always in my heart, I think of you every day. Your sweet, mischievous and serious face as a little girl, and the loving, kind, generous and creative young woman and mother to Henry that you became. Sharing egg sandwiches at the Coffee Mill, afternoon tea, and the colour lavender through the best of times, and the challenging ones too. I miss you, and will do my best to be there for Henry. Sweet dreams. Love always, your Aunt Jen

I attended Inglenook Alternative HS in Toronto, and Emily became one of my best friends then. We had not been in touch much recently, but I will always remember her as hilariously funny, genuinely kind, smart and savvy, super creative, and so much fun. The world was certainly a better place with her in it.

This is artwork that Emily shared in class with us. The image with the horse is from the book I Will See You Again by Lisa Boivin The text image she shared from Dominique Falla. Emily was generous in sharing creativity, inspiration, and stories.

I had the honour and pleasure of working with Emily during her time as a student at SFU. During every interaction, I was humbled and moved by her kindness, her vulnerability, her care for others, and her generosity with wisdom. She made a profound impact on her cohort and myself personally, through her passion for her community and her presence. She will be deeply missed and I am wishing comfort and support to her family and all who are grieving her loss.

She was so beautiful on the inside and out. Everyone from our class will miss her so much, and we will always carry her with us in our hearts.

I write this as Emily's classmates from the SFU Community Capacity Building Certificate program sit and speak of Emily's great investment in love. How strong her commitment was to reaching into the hearts of all people that they could meet and talk and play. She took the time to always tell others that she saw them and appreciated them. Emily gave readily and heartily of her great love of love. It was a gift to walk alongside her and to hold her sweet fierce teachings in my recipe book for...
