I never knew a nicer person than Emily. I met Sam when Joe opened his first store. Sam and I served in the Marines in the same company during WW II. Nancy and I traveled many times with Emily and Sam over the years. Emily was a very special person and shall be greatly missed.

I grew up in the neighborhood behind the Foodtown on Williamsburg Rd and remember seeing both Emily and Sam in the store. They were very gracious and always smiling, later on when I would see them in other places in the East End, they were still the same sweet people!
