It was one of the first jobs I ever had. Learned to make make sandwiches (2-1/2 ounces of meat!), discovered Westphalian ham, how to take the beer inventory, bake the pies and cheese pockets in the back. I remember old Bill, and Jim, and the loving brothers Karl and John. They were a riot, but not in front of Dad. Mrs. Huettemann was a sweetie, always very kind to everyone. As a former ER resident I, too, remember the store and all its goodies as a town mainstay. I also remember Mrs. H's sweet face at the register. My condolences to the Huetteman family.
