It was one of the first jobs I ever had. Learned to make make sandwiches (2-1/2 ounces of meat!), discovered Westphalian ham, how to take the beer inventory, bake the pies and cheese pockets in the back. I remember old Bill, and Jim, and the loving brothers Karl and John. They were a riot, but not in front of Dad. Mrs. Huettemann was a sweetie, always very kind to everyone. She taught me how to make the potato salad. Everything calmed down when she was around. Great place. Began my love affair with food there. Now I'm a foodie from San Francisco. Condolences and love to the H family.

As a former ER resident I, too, remember the store and all its goodies as a town mainstay. I also remember Mrs. H's sweet face at the register. My condolences to the Huetteman family.

My sincere condolences to the Huetteman family. I will always remember walking over from my father's deli, Belvidere Market (Paul Linzalone) to get the best cole slaw. With our deepest sympathy,
