Emma D. Nivins Ammons Simmons was the best mother I could have wished for. An excellent cook, she saw that I was well nourished. A local model, she saw that I learned proper comportment. A kind and gentle woman, she taught me the Golden Rule. But she was nobody's pushover; she gave as good as she got! And I try to emulate her in that respect, too. I want to thank my Granny for teaching me Jesus! Watching her on her knees for so long each night, I often wondered, why has she got so much to say to God? Now I know it was all the names of all her children and loved ones!

My ever loving grandmother I will miss you so so much but I know you’re with God now no more suffering for that I’m truly grateful I love you Rest In Peace Granny your ever loving granddaughter Tina

My condolences to the Simmons Family. Mrs Emma D Simmons made everyone feel loved. She loved God, her Family, the AME Church and the Women's Missionary Society. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
