Enrique Lopez Jr.

January 21, 1968 - February 2, 2015

Enrique Lopez, Jr. passed away suddenly, but peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 47. Henry was born on January 21, 1968 to Enrique D. and Julia M. Lopez in San Antonio. He was a 1986 graduate of L. W. Fox Technical High School. He married his love, Esther A. Lopez in 1990. Together they raised a son and a daughter and in July 2010 welcomed their first grandchild, whom they helped to raise. The majority of his career was spent as a ride mechanic/welder for Six Flags Fiesta Texas where he was employed for 16 years. Henry always enjoyed a cold Coke; playing softball for the competitiveness and camaraderie he gained amongst the people he played with; disliked mechanic work and only did it because it was something that he learned from his father. He enjoyed volunteering to help out at the Monster Truck Jam when it rolled into town; this was a passion for him. He was a seasoned welder and in his spare time created some beautiful pieces. His dream truck was a 1963 Chevy pickup, his favorite dog was a Rottweiler and he loved the New York Yankees. He dreamed of one day making a trip to watch them play, alas now he can watch them play whenever he so chooses. Henry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, son in law, brother, brother in law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. His family, friends and anyone who was graced to know him will always remember him for his kind nature. The greatest of all you can do is to remember Henry he was so easy going and the most genuine of souls. He is preceded in death by his father, Enrique D. Lopez, Sr. He is survived and will be remembered and immensely missed by his wife of 25 years, Esther A. Lopez, son Justin Henry Lopez, daughter Megan T. Lopez, grandson Leiam Hernandez, mother Julia M. Lopez, sister and brother in law Gloria L. and Eloy Gomez, nieces Alexa Raquel Gomez and Eriqua Raine Gomez. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in laws and friends. Henry's life will be celebrated and visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Monday, February 9, 2015 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 9:30 am for a Mass at 10:00 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 2004 Chihuahua Street. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II where he will be laid to rest. Goodbye is not forever. Services under the direction of..
