I knew Rick in the late 70s thru mid 80s. The Rick I knew loved boxing and baseball but was also an avid runner. I went to boxing matches with him in Orlando, watched Mets games together and we both ran the 1980 NYC Marathon. I lost track of him when I left Florida. But I think of him often and remember him fondly. RIP, my friend.

So sad to hear of Rick's passing. There was a time when Rick and I spent most of our free time together. Boxing may have become his passion as time passed, but when I knew him it was baseball! The two of us spent countless hours practicing at Dietz Stadium. Occasionally Gerry Hawkins would drop by. Baseball was oxygen to Rick.
