Eric Lee Hahn

Eric spent a summer in my UVA Innovation Lab. He made major contributions to the design and engineering of the first 3D human cell robotic system. He was respected and loved by all.

Linda, Gordon, and family, I just got this sad news today when I stopped by the Center. What an accomplished young man Eric was. My heart breaks for you. He will surely be missed by so many. Sincerest condolences,

Linda, I am so sorry tonhear this news. I am sure words cannot take away your pain, but wanted to let you know that Iwill keep you in my prayers. Mr. Dale, I know it must be very difficult losing a grandson, May God heal your pain.

The entire karst and caving community is saddened by the news of your son's death. I am so sorry that you have lost your son. We respect his many accomplishments. We hope you know his many contributions to advancing knowledge about caves, and, particularly, his service work in cave safety and rescue.

I vividly recall the day Eric showed up at my Monte Piccolo front door quite excited about a virtual reality head set he had just received. We played with it all afternoon. He was part of a team of three brilliant engineers that spent a summer in my medical robotics laboratory.

I extend deepest sympathies to Eric's wonderful family. May all the beautiful memories help to ease your pain in the days and months ahead. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.

So sorry for your loss. Eric really left a legacy, even at a young age. I trust you will be able to celebrate his life even as you mourn. God bless you.
