I knew Eric before you. I've always enjoyed him. He was a "good man." Active and doing is how I will remember him. He was no laggard. He always wanted the best for you and your family. And from the "vacation stories" we talked about when Ets and I met with you all the last time, he was adventurous, if not daring (?). But you made it through.

Dear Mrs.Small, Deborah & Anna,
Today by mail, I found out about Dr.Small's passing. It was just two months ago, that his face was the last one who said good bye to me as I walked out the door of his office.I am very saddened. He will be very much missed. He has been my dentist since I moved here 2001. I even got braces in my forties because he encouraged me to do so and I am happy about that. He was very nice and a soft spoken man, and all his staff have been wonderful. We will pray...

More than a month has passed since Eric's passing and I find myself compelled to express the varied emotions cast upon me at any moment in time. I only learned of Dr. Small's passing today, and was shocked. I had been a patient of Dr. Small's since moving to Bakersfield in 1990. He was a kind, gentle man. Always took time to listen, always genuinely concerned about the well-being of everyone. I truly enjoyed the semi-annual visits with my dentist.
