Not sure what to say?

Mary and all, Randy and I are so sad that we had to miss Blue's services and send-off yesterday (April 12, 2025). We're both a bit old and creaky now, but our memories of Blue (and you and Bob) will be strong for years, and so fun. I haven't known many legends but Blue was surely one in that community. One friend who did get there yesterday said it was the best memorial service he'd been to in many a year. That's appropriate for Blue. Our best to you and all--so many--who loved and...

Blue was a local hero and favorite person, his twinkling smile and friendly conversation was always a bright spot in your day. We will miss him so, thanks for the memories.

As a young boy in the 70's living a hundred yards from the station I have fond memories of walking up to get a coke out of Blue's old timey coke machine. Blue and Dave Stancil were always welcoming and spending time talking with a young man and what I was doing. A long standing member of the church I knew him well and know he was a good, hard working man always willing to help another out. Such a sad loss, but know he lived a full, loving and generous life, always helping others. Very...

Mary, I am so sorry for your loss What a long rich life your father had. Kind Regards, Bill Ordel

I'm just learning of the passing of Blue. Very sad to see this. I bowled in a league at Mountain Bowl many years ago with him and Joan......they were such a joy to be around. May he Rest in Peace. To his family, I send my deepest condolences

Blue seemed to never forget people. I moved away from Albemarle after service and came home often to visit family in Lindsay passing Cismont Gulf as we headed further north on Rte. 231. A honk and a wave back if Blue was outside. Blue was a friend to all and provided excellent service to the community and the Harrington family. Later on in life, a daughter learned through her Dad that I was in Florida and when here they stopped by for a very refreshing visit from home and from their Dad. ...

Blue was a delight and an inspiration among the Retreads. When he was still pitching well and hitting for a high average in his 80´s he was the subject of comments like "you should have seen him play when he was 70." Not many can have that said about him! He always had a smile on his face and made it clear at all times that he loved being alive.

he was such a gentleman ive had his insurance for years. he will be greatly missed--glenda thomas
