Ernest W. Eib

Ernest W. Eib of Truro, MA, formerly of Manchester, died Friday (January 24, 2003). He was the husband of Dianne Eib, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage. Mr. Eib was born in Hartford and raised in Manchester and was a 1958 graduate of Manchester High School, after which he served seven years in the Connecticut Air National Guard. He was employed for over 35 years with Stanadyne in Windsor, where he worked as a toolmaker and foreman. An avid hunter and fisherman, Mr. Eib vacationed with his family on Cape Cod for more than 20 years before retiring to Truro in 1999. Besides his wife, Mr. Eib is survived by a son, Ernest W. "Bill" Eib, II of Ellington and his wife, Dana; a daughter, Kristen Barrett of Manchester and her husband, James; a sister, Gertrude Prior of Bayonet, FL; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. TODAY, Jan. 28, at Center Congregational Church, 11 Center St., Manchester. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1115 W. Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02401.
