Not sure what to say?

We have lived next door to "grandpa" for 21 years. I also like many cannot begin to express how great he was. Even though we were not related, "grandpa" always treated us like family. He would take my younger brother on fishing trips and always invited me over for family gathering at his house. I remember the days when I would come over the house to play with "JJ" he would make us popcorn and always cracked jokes about us. My fondest moment of "grandpa" was when my mother and I would make...

I cannot even begin to explain in words how much this family will miss such a wonderful man. He was my papa but, in so many ways he was much more than that. He was always having fun or doing something silly... one time we played an april fool's joke on my Dad; we wrapped my whole arm up like it was broken and i of course using my acting skills played the whole thing out beautifully. We always has a speacial relationship as he would babysit me when i was young and we would go to the duck...

The opening line caught my eye; I clipped this obituary out, and also shared with friends. My father just passed away on April 20th, and he would have LOVED to have left an obituary just like that one. It has inspired me in so many ways. Look at all of the people, including myself, who have signed his guest book! It inspired my son so much, that when he wrote me a letter for Mother's Day, he ended it with "and let it go at that".. Here's to you, Ernie!

To the Family of Mr. Hollingshead. My sincere condolences. I never had the previledge of knowing this great gentlemen. I shared this with many friends over the weekend. I will hoist one in Ernie's honor this evening.

I didn't know Mr. Hollingshead, but I wish I did. Fun and amazing as I can see by his writing. RIP Mr. Hollingshead and my sincere sympathy to the family left behind.

My prayers are with your family. He was great man. Always having a great time at family gatherings as I recall. His obituary is so Ernie. He will be missed. Love to you all.

Sympathy to the family. I'll be sure to toast Ernie on high the next alcoholic beverage I have. Never met the man but he sounds way cool.
