Not sure what to say?

Mary Jane and Family, Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Erv was a wonderful man and a true gentleman. I enjoyed my times working with him at NSWC. I was a very caring person and very easy to work for and with. His warm smile would always light up a room when he entered. Erv will truly be missed by all who worked with him and knew him. All of you have my deepest sympathy.

Ervin was my life long friend. We met when we were both 10 in little league playing on different teams. We played together in baseball and basketball all the way thru Annapolis High School. He was always a great team mate and friend. Ervin lead a great life with a wonderful marriage, career, and family. He was a humble man who always thought of others and was always a friend you could count on. I will remember him fondly till we meet again.

Aunt Mary Jane, Brian & Kristen- we are thinking of you during this difficult time. Love & prayers...

Erv was a wonderful boss, mentor and all around good man. I worked with him at NSWC and he was always supportive and understanding. He understood the balance of working full time and raising a family. If you needed to be off from work for a family or medical issue - no questions asked - he wanted you to go be with your family. They came first. Mary Jane and family please accept our heartfelt sympathy. Our thoughts and prayers are with.

Erv was always the consummate professional, treating both his peers and subordinates with respect and kindness. He was an intelligent innovative engineer who contributed advancing silencing technologies in a resourceful way. He was a pleasure to work with and to be around. I always enjoyed socializing with he and Mary Jane and when my wife dies he was a comfort. He shall be missed but never forgotten.

Erv Pettersen exemplified kindness, respect, and character. I was privileged to work with him for several years at Anteon, and benefited mightily from his professional expertise, and the camaraderie that he created with virtually everyone he ever met. Most of all, he was just a wonderful person who was loved by all. Mary Jane, I send my deepest condolences to you and your family, and wishes for your wonderful memories with Erv to sustain you through this time.

Wow, what a great guy Erv was! So sad to get this news. My thoughts are with You Mary Jane and the rest of the family. A brilliant mentor, great athlete, and a gentle soul. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on.

Mrs. Pettersen and Family. As a kid, I spent a lot of time running around your house, swimming in your pool, eating your food, and generally, engaging in all types of kid-related mayhem. Yours was the first house I knew that had cable tv and later an Atari system. You and Mr. Pettersen were always there to keep us in line. You were great neighbors. Belated thank you and sorry for your loss.

Aunt Mary Jane, Brian and Kristen
I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Erve's passing. He was a wonderful man. He was a great uncle and a wonderful brother-in-law to my mother. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Love
Lori
