What a surprise to return to Greenville and have the first news shared to be that Gene has slipped away. Special prayers for his friends and especially his girls. An admirable man and irreplaceable.

It was with heavy heart that I learned the news. It carried me back to those wonderful days on the Mountain and our various adventures like preaching on the square in McMinville in our gowns. A truly remarkable man and a lifetime friend. I pray that all of you do well during this time.

We were shocked and saddened to learn of Gene's death. He was such a lovely man and a best friend of our family and friends growing up.Gene will be missed by so many.
