I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am a friend from what seems like forever ago. I was saddened to hear he had left. I wish God's blessings to your family and may you always keep him in your heart.

Jenny, Mackenzie and the Nelson Family: My deepest sympathy on the loss of Charlie. I commanded the 134th LRSD and served with him when he first enlisted in the Army National Guard. He was an exceptional soldier and role model for many, he will be greatly missed.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Charlie. I haven’t seen Charlie since my childhood, but the descriptions I read here match my memories. I pray that God may bring Gene, Bonnie, Chris, Jenny & Mackenzie and the rest of our family peace in the coming days.

As I set here to remember Charlie I think of how it is a person can Laugh, Smile, and Cry all at once. To my friend and cousin thanks for the memories.

I have always admired Charlie and know that his life has been an inspiration to all who know him. I take comfort in knowing he is now with God and that we will all see him again. My prayers are with Jenny, Mackenzie, Uncle Gene, Aunt Bonnie and the rest of our family.
