Chief Sides gave me the job that started my career. Even after he had to leave police work, he was always happy to see me, called me by name, and asked about my family. He was a kind man who now gets his reward for a life well lived. Rest well, Chief.

chief Gene Sides was a professional in the field of managing law enforcement operations in College Park Md. He had many friends at the university and always conducted himself as a professional. Danny, Lisa, Kevin, Michael, Herma, & family, I am so sorry for the passing of Eugene. He will be missed. I will really miss my phone calls with him, and especially him sharing with me, our family history. I think that Eugene was the only one that knew everything about our family. I know he was a great, husband, Dad, Grandfather, brother, & brother-in-law & cousin to all of us. May he rest in peace.
