Not sure what to say?

Gene was a great friend to me at Duke. I will miss him.

As an orthopedic surgeon and a colleague, I worked with Gene throughout his career at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was resourceful, always very helpful, encouraging me to stay in shape and "don't get hurt". Great anesthesiologist, physician, friend. Always a pleasure with whom to work. Gone way too soon........ We'll miss you, Gene.

Gene and I lived together during residency at UNC. I remember him as a very kind, considerate, smart, hard-working person, and an overall great guy. I am so sad to hear of this news. Sending much love to Gene and his family.

So saddened to hear this. May the peace that passes all understanding be with the family.

I met Gene at UNC Medical School in 1991. We were in the same 1st year lab group together. I remember him fondly. Praying for peace to all who loved him....
Jenny McDonald Willard, MD

Gene and I were anesthesia residents at UNC together. Our class was particularly close as there were only 4 of us. He was always a most down to earth and genuinely good- hearted person. He helped me through many difficult situations by just being his steadfast self. I've no doubt he wil be missed greatly by all that knew him. I'm sorry for the loss to his family and his community. Rest In Peace Gene

Such sadness! Best times at UNC with this fine young man!!

I was a classmate of Gene at East Meck. He was loved by everyone. There was always a kind word and a smile of encouragement from him. My deepest sympathies to your family at this very difficult time.

To Dr Tom's family, and especially to Molly - may God's loving arms give you peace and comfort as you grieve the loss of your loved one.
