Eva Bridges

I am so sad to read that my Aunty Eve has transitioned. She was someone whom my father and mother, who died respectively in 2011 and 2019, both held dear and I was always inspired by her sense of adventure, entrepreneurial genius, and celebration of Africa. My condolences to all of you during this difficult time of sorrow. Mrs Bridges was, and will ever be, a legend in Rahway and in our life time. I fondly remember many councils and committees we were on together in Rahway. A very classy lady.

Growing up in Rahway I looked forward to when I needed a greeting card or a book by a black author or i fo on Black history, I would visit Bridges book store. Mrs. Bridges was always there and if she did not have what you were looking for she would order it for you. Mrs. Bridges was a vital part of Rahway's history.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Eva. But God is good and he promises that he will help us to endure these times of Sorrow. Psalms 46 verse 1 is most encouraging. It reads: God is our refuge and strength a help that is readily found in times of distress.
